My name is Matthew Oden and I’m a pianist, composer and voice coach originally from San Diego. I studied at USC’s Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, where I received a BM in Piano Performance, and have since worked as a freelance musician. East Nashville Music Studio offers world-class music instruction online via Zoom or in person at my East Nashville Studio.

As a pianist, I’m currently the Coordinator of Collaborative Piano at Lipscomb University, as well as an accompanist at Belmont University. On keys, I’ve toured internationally as a sideman for artists on Verve Records (UMG) and Atlantic Records, with TV appearances on Conan O’Brien and Kimmy Kimmel.

As a composer, I enjoy writing neoclassical piano pieces and various styles for sync production libraries. My production music has been used on SNL, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dateline NBC, 20/20, The Today Show, the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, as well as hundreds of other TV shows and advertisements.

As a vocal coach, I have successfully prepared voice students for admission into NYU’s Tisch School, USC Thornton, Belmont and CCM. I have worked with singers who have gone on to book roles on Broadway, regional theater, and signed deals with major record labels.
